Before Visiting a Sushi Restaurant

01Make a Reservation

Contact the restaurant to reserve a date and time for the number of people in your party. This is also the perfect opportunity to inform the restaurant of your budget, the occasion (business, date, anniversary, etc.), and any food preferences or allergies. You can also request to sit at the counter, a table, or in a private room. Finally, don't forget to check what payment options the restaurant accepts as some may be cash only.

02Check the Dress Code and Dress Appropriately

To fully enjoy the natural aroma and flavour of sushi, avoid wearing strong scents, whether they be fabric softener or perfume.

  • An illustration of a clock with an arrow indicating an earlier time than the scheduled hour.

Arrive a little early. Your reservation may be cancelled if you are late.

  • An illustration of a wristwatch and a bracelet. A cross mark at the top indicates caution.

Remove or avoid wearing chunky bracelets and watches which may damage the wooden sushi counter.
