Aniki

“Aniki” is Japanese for "older brother" and is a slang term referring to ingredients or dishes that were prepared earlier. Simply put, it means "older items." Conversely, new ingredients or those that will be used later are referred to as "ototo," Japanese for "younger brother", as they are "younger items."
